Study Finds New Evidence of Warming in Antarctica

New research from the University of Washington and NASA indicates that climate change in Antarctica is more widespread than previously thought. Using satellite and weather station data from 1957-2006, researchers deduced that both the western and eastern halves have warmed significantly, approximately 0.1 degree Celsius overall per decade. The warming has serious repercussions for melting ice, sea levels, and wildlife.

CNN Drops Science-Tech Unit and Veteran Reporter

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that CNN's seven-person science and technology reporting group, led by anchor Miles O'Brien, has been shut down. The move is reportedly editorial, not economic. A CNN spokesperson says that science and technology reporting will be now be moved into Anderson Cooper 360's "Planet in Peril" series.
