Danielle Kerkovich

Danielle Kerkovich is the associate director for scientific research of the Sensory Motor Performance Program at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, providing programmatic and operational support for the multidisciplinary neuroscience and engineering scientific research program.

Danielle is also the principal of Brain Bleu. Brain Bleu is a scientific consulting group with two major divisions. The first works with nonprofit research foundations to help identify, develop, and get the most out of their scientific review committees and advisory boards. The second develops science museum exhibits and works toward other informal science education initiatives.

Prior to coming to Chicago, Danielle was the acting assistant director and spinal cord injury portfolio manager for the rehabilitation research and development service of the US Department of Veterans Affairs. From the start of current conflicts through 2007, she was responsible for joint project development with other federal agencies, academia and commercial entities; strategic planning and oversight of the scientific review process; development of background papers and presentations for legislative, public, and academic dissemination; and numerous special projects related to current conflicts. Areas covered included orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, rehabilitation engineering, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and burn injury.
