One Book One Northwestern
Date/Time: Thursday, April 22, 2010 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm

The 2009-2010 One Book project will culminate with a full day celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day. Join us as we welcome Jean-Michel Cousteau as our keynote speaker.

Jean-Michel, the son of ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau, has investigated the world's oceans for much of his life. An explorer, environmentalist, educator, and film producer, Cousteau has received an Emmy, the Peabody Award and was further honored with the Environmental Hero Award during the Clinton administration. Jean-Michel founded the Ocean Futures Society in 1999, an organization intended to serve as a "Voice for the Ocean." OFS has tirelessly communicated through all media the critical bond between human and oceanic ecosystems, and the fundamental importance of responsible environmental stewardship.

This event, sponsored by the One Book One Northwestern program, is free and open to the public. Space is limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served reservation basis.
