2015 Scientific Images Contest Winners Announced

Northwestern’s Scientific Images Contest winners were announced at a public reception at Evanston Township High School in November. A gallery of all twelve winning images is now available on Helix. Print and canvas editions of the artworks are also available for purchase through the online art retailer Imagekind. Proceeds of any image sales fund science communication and education programs related to the Contest.

The first prize went to Monica Laronda & Adam Jakus, the image can be seen above. You can read more about This collaborative team of postdocs spanning medicine and materials science and their winning image in the latest edition of Northwestern’s research digest. The full collection of images and the researchers behind them have also recently been featured on the McCormick School of Engineering news.

The exhibition comprising of all twelve images visited Evanston Township High School in November, accompanied by eight of the winning researchers who spoke to over 500 students.  The exhibition will next be on public display at Evanston Public Library December 14, 2015 to January 31, 2016.
