Over the course of 2016, Science in Society has been extending and developing several community-focused partnerships in Evanston. As always, our work is firmly grounded in supporting underserved communities with high-quality, impactful STEM opportunities, and these new initiatives are no exception.
Science in Society is currently recruiting a new team member to support and lead the growing K-8 STEM Education community in Evanston.
The District 65/Northwestern University Partnership Coordinator will serve as a liaison between NU and the Curriculum and Instruction Department in Evanston/Skokie School District 65. The Coordinator will develop and foster a network that connects Northwestern talent and resources with teachers and K-8 students in District 65.
Now in its fifth year, the Scientific Images Contest has become a landmark event for Science in Society. Each spring Northwestern scientists submit images connected to the contemporary research on campus. A panel of artists, scientists and community leaders the select prize-winning images which tour venues across Evanston and Chicago.
