Now in its fifth year, the Scientific Images Contest has become a landmark event for Science in Society. Each spring Northwestern scientists submit images connected to the contemporary research on campus. A panel of artists, scientists and community leaders the select prize-winning images which tour venues across Evanston and Chicago.

This year's winning images span a wide range of disciplines, including physics and astronomy, biomedical engineering, plant biology and chemistry. Come to our gallery opening event at Evanston Township High School on October 15 to view the images in person and meet the winning scientists.
From electron microscopy to the all-you-can-eat buffet at Sargent Hall, 60 Evanston Township High School (ETHS) students got a chance to experience life at Northwestern when they visited the university last week. The students from Ms. Jenna Paplaczyk’s Biology with Support classes learned about authentic scientific research when they visited two advanced imaging facilities and two research lab spaces.
