Jakob Nalley

Program Coordinator, Science Club

Throughout his academic career, Jakob has always found ways to be engaged in science education and outreach. From working as an environmental summer camp counselor to developing K-12 curriculum focused around his research, he has always found this work extremely rewarding and is looking forward to continuing to excite students about science!

In 2016, Jakob finished his PhD in Integrative Biology at Michigan State University. His research focused on an emerging and extremely promising alternative energy source, biofuels from algae. Jakob completed his undergraduate studies in Biological Science and Environmental Science at Loyola University – Chicago.

Jakob will be leading the Science Club team at the Pedersen-McCormick Boys and Girls Club and also working to expand Science Club into Evanston at the McGaw YMCA’s MetaMedia.
