Julianne Hatfield

Post Doctoral Fellow

Julianne Hatfield received her PhD in biology from Northwestern University in 2015. After graduating from Northwestern’s Driskill Graduate Program in 2015 with a PhD in Immunology, Julianne joined the Science in Society team to further pursue her interest in science outreach.  She started working in science education and community engagement in 2010 as a graduate student volunteer with Science in Society’s Science Club. After a few years of being a mentor, Julianne wanted a deeper understanding of the world of science education and community programs and co-ran a Junior Science Club program at the General Wood Boys and Girls Club in the Little Village neighborhood. Upon receiving her PhD, she accepted a position at Science in Society and has spent the last year running the Science Club program as well as developing and leading the Science Explorers program at Mather High School.
